There are several causes to collect vintage guitars and one good reason is value. These pieces appears to hold and enlarge their worth ever since it became popular to invest and gather them. It can be in comparison to investing in valuable metals like silver and gold and in comparison to stocks they indicates much more stabilty. Of course not all vintage guitars are that costly, it depends on brand, scarceness and condition but with certain manufacturers like Fender typically most electric guitar from the fifties and sixties are vastly collectible.

Not only enthusiasts and buyers want vintage guitars but also modern musicians. Why is that? That is because every have their own individualistic tone which is a consequence of how they are manufactured. The technology that was used in old days was a bit primitive and components were usually hand made. That led to minor variations between the guitars which led to unlike tones. It is understandable that musicians wishes to establish their own sound and an instrument that sounds a bit different builds up that need. These guitars were commonly produced of mahogany, oak and som other superior resources, some of them even had mother of pearl and gold inlays.

Not only their worth is a fine reason to collect them but moreover their inventive value. In my belief they can be compared to paintings, each own their history and marks that tells a story. A lot of enthusiasts including me hang up their guitars on a wall and look at them and admire them. They all feels to posess a soul and are carismatic pieces. Especially those that I know the history of and former owners, some of them pretty famous.

The most renowned guitar brands are Fender and Gibson. Leo Fender established the Fender Electric Instrument Company in 1949 and made the Broadcaster, rapidly to be renamed the famous Telecaster about 1950. In 1951 Fender created and produced the first electric bass guitar and begun selling it and Gibson released the Les Paul model of electric guitars in 1952. In the similar year Fender presented of three pick-up Stratocaster. Both are even now creating guitars but only guitars from 1950s and 1969s are worthy as collecting objects. The later versions were mass produced and all machine manufactured so they all have the identical sound.

If you come across a vintage guitar look for the serial number. Surf the web and find out what serial figures that was used in those early times and find out if those guitars you find has a good figure. Do not hesitate to get if the price is logical. With some knowledge gained over time you will promptly distinguish if an old guitar is worth purchasing or not.
A superior place to begin exploring for vintage guitars would be on the internet and I suggest Ebay, where both dealers and ordinary individuals sell guitars.
